- It is up to the instructor to assess whether a rider is sufficiently qualified to go on a group ride (on public roads or in nature reserves).
- The group must be accompanied by a rider who, in addition to having sufficient knowledge and experience to lead a group, also holds an instructor’s diploma or valid riding certificate.
- The guide must be familiar with the route to be ridden.
- Before departure, the group leader must instruct the riders in the commands that will be given along the way and in general rules of conduct in the event of a rider falling, a horse bolting, and so on.
- The group leader must have a cell phone with the emergency number and the numbers of the riding school and the veterinarian.
- The group leader has a spare stirrup strap and a sharp pocket knife.
- A group going outside may not exceed 10 riders in total.
- Riders who go outside individually on a lesson horse must be in possession of a valid riding certificate. Riders who go outside on their own horse are encouraged to obtain a riding certificate.
- The house rules also apply to outdoor riding, where applicable.
- When riding in the dark or at dusk, the rider must carry the legally required lighting. The rider must carry a light that emits red light to the rear and white or yellow light to the front.
- Wearing reflective material by horse and rider is strongly recommended.
- When riding outdoors with less experienced riders, the presence of an experienced rider is desirable to support the group leader.
